PRIVATE HOUSE AMSTERDAM

This house for a family from the Netherlands has an area of 220 sq. m. It`s located on the beautiful river coast far from the city center. A young couple decided to build a house on their own without a design project. They asked us only to select furniture and lightning, but in the end, we created a complete design project with visualizations for all the rooms. We did some remodeling, furniture and plumbing arrangement and chose the finishing materials.

The project was created remotely, all the decisions were made in the process of negotiation over video communication. The clients were actively involved in the decision-making process. While the walls of the house were built and all the construction work was being completed, we quickly made a design project.

The interior is designed in a modern style with light primary colors and golden nuances.

The house has large floor-to-ceiling windows in each room, which allows natural light to illuminate the rooms throughout the day. This was the client`s dream – to live in a bright house with large windows. Now, even the bathroom has two windows, in one of which you can look while bathing.

The kitchen, the dining room, and the living room on the first floor are combined into one large common space, while the office is separated by the glass partitions. This allows you to observe what is happening in the living room while sitting at your desk.

The living room area is separated from the kitchen-dining room by a fireplace, which is lined with marble from floor to ceiling. The fire can be seen from all four sides, which makes you feel comfortable sitting at the kitchen table and in the living room on the sofas.

The main bedroom on the second floor has 6 meters high sloping ceiling. For us, as the designers, the task was to make this room as cozy as possible. The large floor-to-ceiling windows were draped with tulle and curtains, and the wall behind the headboard was paneled with wood, creating a niche lighting. All that visually reduced the room a little. The chandelier on the ceiling is a cascade of crystal lamps, which makes the lighting softer and creates a romantic mood.

The project was completed in April 2020.
